| P.S. I used x_i, r, and s in my proof, like in the entry about weighted power means, but in the PM inequality you used a_i, x, and y. Is this because the a_i's denote specific values for the x_i's and x and y are the variables for the inequality? In that case, I'll change them in the proof, otherwise it's probably better to use the same letters everywhere.
