| I've no idea whether you can prove the fixed point theorem without using proof by contradiction, and I don't know a single living mathematician who rejects proof by contradiction. But to do so has been a position taken by "legitimate" mathematicians, even if most people disagree with it (I certainly do), so I think it ought to be mentioned in the entry, though perhaps with the warning that constructivism/intuitionism is a very minority perspective. |
