| An encyclopedia is not an appropriate platform for initiating notation reform. We may report on reform efforts, and possibly even go so far as to include opinion and commentary, but we cannot adopt nonstandard notations. Even if the standard notation is a "mistake", it does our readers a disservice to conceal the mistake with nonstandard notation because they will have to know the standard notation anyway to read works other than this encyclopedia.
