| Again I apologize for being too harsh in my previous post --- I simply wanted to get a point across to everybody. I looked at the proof and it looks good. In particular, I like the way you handled it. The combintorial meaning was up front so everyone can see it and the more technical points are hidden in the background.
I read through the proof again and I don't see that anything is missing. There was a suggestion in the earlier post about saying that commutativity and associativity of addition is needed for the theorem to work. However, I would say that the right place for stating the conditions under which a theorem works is in the statement of the theorem, not in the proof so maybe that remark needs to be made into a correction for the entry that states the theorem.
As for doing a poor job choosing your words, I doubt that I would have chosen my words much better if I tried to write a math article in Spanish. For that matter, I don't choose them to well in English either, which is why I get so many corrections :)
