| Such tables hold all definitions of reference material, I recall having to use trig tables to solve problems in junior high, and we weren't allowed to use calculators. Besides, this doesn't exclude the possibility of having entries dealing wit algorithms. Finally, consider that althoguh for now this encyclopedia is consulted mostly online on a computer, there is a project for it having a printed version, and then it could be useful for engineers or people needing to lookup values and not having a calculator available.
If I were to argue about what consists of encyclopedic and reference material, I'd first consider entries like http://planetmath.org/encyclopedia/MathematicsVocabulary.html http://planetmath.org/encyclopedia/Obvious.html but I can see some value added by such entries, and even if little, value added is better than no value f G -----> H G p \ /_ ----- ~ f(G) \ / f ker f G/ker f |
