Statistical tables, on the other hand, are still widely used, even to this day. You still see them appearing at the end of introductory or intermediate, and even some advanced statistics books. The intent of entries on statistical tables is to serve the readers as quick references and to explain loosely the usage of them. The accuracy of the values in these entries is obviously very important, but the emphasis here is more about their uses. Besides, if you check out the AMS classification, there is a specific category under Statistics that is completely devoted to statistical tables. Finally, on a more personal note, I get a good practice out of using and experimenting with pstricks, supertabular, etc... =)
