``Re: something wrong in entry displaying?'' by marijke on 2005-04-05 09:56:05
Thank you thank you!

> 1) "d" at the begining

And not only that, but where the second (third etc.) inline image should go it prints instead the first (second etc.) inline image, making the entry completely gobbledygook! Here's the whole story:

 - it's only in HTML. The "page image" display option shows perfectly
good TeX output. That's why i didn't notice it straightaway.

 - i've noticed this in all my topics (7 to date). I don't know what
causes it but i do know how to fix it: just comment out or delete
(almost) all of my preamble. Thus far, i've narrowed it down to
a handful of control sequences that bring this on. Either that,
or simply re-editing itself eventually gets it right. Somehow,
"Preview" can't be trusted in this regard (images are cached).
I have to save changes, and wait a day, see if it came out right.

 - i've fixed most of my articles already. Just mopping up the last
few. Thanks for telling me Valency isn't fixed yet. On the case.

> 2) and some formulas much above the text line, like $\Delta(G)$ and $\delta\ge3$

What you're seeing is either (a) the wrong formula in the wrong place, as explained above (and being fixed as we speak) or (b) PM being its usual self: unfortunately, in HTML (in my copy of Firefox at least) inline TeX formul\ae\ end up with their baseline halfway surrounding text. In every topic.
