Do you mean A \subseteq R or A \subseteq \Pot(R) ?
With (-oo, a), [b, c), [d, oo) \in A ?
or (-oo, a), [b, c), [d, oo) \subseteq A ?
Maybe a sup-generated subset of the power set \Pot(R) ??
