If the reader has read any of the elementary entries on elliptic curves (or any on algebraic geometry really) then he/she should be aware of the ubiquotous notation C(F), where C is a curve and F is a field. An entry on a regulator (somewhat technical topic) is not the place to into details of basic definitions. Still, since it only takes a few words to explain, I added an explanation.
