Arithmetic vs geometric genus by livetoad Correction id: 3064 Filed on: 2004-01-14 01:28:29 Status: Rejected on 2004-02-27 12:28:51 Type: Addendum
Correction text:
| The definition of genus you give is the so-called geometric genus. This works for smooth curves but often the arithmetic genus is easier to work with, especially in flat families. Also, the arithmetic and geometric genera differa in higher dimensions, and so it might be good to include the defintion of arithmetic genus. | Comment from object owner mathcam:
Though I appreciate the comment, I think a separate entry for arithmetic genus would probably be appropriate.
