Not required to have a finite cover. by archibal

Correction id: 3649
Filed on: 2004-02-27 06:52:39
Status: Accepted on 2004-04-10 01:11:35
Type: Erratum

Correction text:
At least in Hartshorne, a morphism can be finite without there being a *finite* open cover of affines such that [...]. All he requires is that there be some open cover of affines such that [...]. To see that this is different, take the identity morphism on countably many copies of C.
