Viewing Correction to '$F_\sigma$ set'

Origin by bbukh Correction id: 4894 Filed on: 2004-09-25 00:20:47 Status: Accepted on 2004-09-25 00:48:06 Type: Meta/Minor
Correction text:
The set of all lines through the origin with rational slopes includes the origin which does not have the property that x/y is rational. Also the set of points of the form (0,y) has property that x/y is rational, but it is not contained in any line with rational slope (or you have to include "infinity" in the rational which is not conventional). To summarize: choose some example that has fewer special cases.
Also, right now the entry does not link to G_\delta sets. Unfortunatly this is Noosphere fault because it currently does not support automatic linking of math formulas. You have to use \PMlinkname manually (see documentation in "Docs" section of the menu). You might want to add it also in "Related" field.
P.S. The same comment on linking applies to you entry on G_\delta set. I will not file a separate correction to it.

I reworded the last paragraph to avoid the difficulties you pointed out. Since the correction keeps the definition simple and avoids "too many special cases", I decided there was no reason to change the example.
Thank you for telling me how to fix the linking problem.
Unfortunately, I am having trouble adding "$G_\delta$ set to the linking policy so I will have to try again later. |
