 Hi,

More generally, I think a magic square is any nxn matrix such that the sum of any row, column and main diagonal is equal to a constant $C$. The entries don't have to go from 1, to n^2, nor the entries have to be different. The square you describe in the entry is a type of magic square, which may have a name.
