[parent] Viewing Correction to 'associativity of multiplication'
reason for confusion by rspuzio

Correction id: 6390
Filed on: 2005-03-25 13:24:20
Status: Accepted on 2005-03-25 14:51:28
Type: Addendum

Correction text:
It might be worth poniting out that the reason for this mistake is that people confuse the associative law with the distributive law. The distributive applies holds when we have DIFFERENT operations (addition and multiplication) whilst the commutative law holds when we have the SAME operation (only addition or only multiplication, not both).
