Correction text:
Let me propose the following corrections:
1) "define the immanent of A"
the missing math environment ($$) for A.
2) "Special cases of immanents are determinants and permanents -- In the case"
I think it is better instead of "--" use just point "."
3) "In the case where $ \chi$ is the sign character ( $ \chi(x) = +1$ for even permutations, $ \chi(x) = -1$ for odd permutations)"
I think it is better to write so

I disagree.
3) "In the case where $ \chi$ is the sign character ( $ \chi(x) = +1$ for even permutations, $ \chi(x) = -1$ for odd permutations)"
I think it is better to write so
"In the case where $\chi(\sigma)$ is the sign of a permutation $\sigma$" |
