Is this appropriate for the encyclopedia?
This looks more like original research/exposition.
Consider moving it into the papers/expositions section.

Dr. Friedman seems to be a fine mathematician, a good teacher and a decent person. I don't think you are doing him any favours by promoting his work like this.

If you're going to call it a correction at least offer some things to correct.
