[parent] Viewing Correction to 'example of integration with respect to surface area of a paraboloid'
Missing "+1" in final solution by chrys

Correction id: 8229
Filed on: 2006-06-14 10:12:42
Status: Accepted on 2006-06-14 11:49:19
Type: Erratum

Correction text:
Currently the second line reads,
sqrt( 1 + (2x)^2 + (6y)^2 ) = sqrt( 4x^2 + 36y^2 )

I believe the RHS, or solution, is missing the "+1". The correct equation should read:

sqrt( 1 + (2x)^2 + (6y)^2 ) = sqrt( 1 + 4x^2 + 36y^2 )

This carries over to Example 8 as well.

Comment from object owner yark:
Thanks - looks like I didn't even read the entry when I adopted it!

Please file a separate correction for that one, as I'm not the owner.
