On PM we have only size and order for matrices, not dimension. so: If $ A_1,\ldots, A_n$ are square matrices (of possibly different <<sizes>),
and: If $ A$ and $ B$ are matrices of the same <<size>> partitioned into blocks <<of the same size>>
If $ A$ and $ B$ are $ m\times n$ and $ n\times k$ matrices, respectively, then if the blocks of $ A$ and $ B$ are <<conformal>>
(you can introduce the term conformal matrices and illustrate how it works to multiply when conformal). The current language will not be precise enough in my opinion. | Comment from object owner mathcam:

I haven't heard of the term 'conformal matrices.' Maybe you could write an entry, after which I can reword the ending? |
