[parent] Viewing Correction to 'surface'
compact? by rmilson

Correction id: 8497
Filed on: 2006-06-23 06:48:30
Status: Accepted on 2006-06-23 15:01:13
Type: Erratum

Correction text:
Why the compactness assumption? According to the current definition a hyperboloid or a parabaloid could not be called a "surface". Riemann surfaces are a useful comparison. It is perfectly acceptable to speak of both compact and non-compact Riemann surfaces.
