[parent] Viewing Correction to 'Dirac delta function'
Notation, distribution, continuity by AxelBoldt

Correction id: 856

Type: Erratum

Correction text:
The capital X should be an x throughout.

The second formula is only valid for continuous functions F.

The keyword "distribution" should be mentioned somewhere, since that's what delta really is.

With the exception of your second remark, these are matters of preference. In particular, saying that the delta can be defined as a Gaussian in the limit of zero width is tantamount to saying that it can be defined from a normal distribution. One could almost say that the owner of "normal distribution" should synonymize "Gaussian function" or just "Gaussian". The "X" rather than "x" was just left verbatim from the original Data Analysis Briefbook entry.

For pedagogical purposes (and because you are the only one to express any preference at all), I will make all of the changes.
