[parent] Viewing Correction to 'rectifiable curve'
several comments by rmilson

Correction id: 923
Filed on: 2002-07-30 14:49:25
Status: Accepted on 2002-07-30 15:48:29
Type: Erratum

Correction text:
1) Give the assumptions first. Start with something like

"Let P:[a,b]->R^n be a continuous map
(we think of P as a curve)"

Something like that. You should be precise in what you mean
by "curve".

2) Give more details about the inscribed polygon and the length
of such. The reader shouldn't have to chase down such details.

3) Your definition of "rectifiable" is different from what
I am familiar with. The usage I am aware of is that a curve
is rectifiable if the lengths of the inscribed polygons tend to
a definit limit as size of the largest interval in the partition
goes to zero. In other words, a definite length can be assigned
to a rectifiable curve. Is that the definition you are
pursuing, or are you speaking of some fancy generalization
of "rectifiable"?
