Parsing Problems
by
Jon Awbrey
on 2009-10-15 05:40:12
Viewing Relation Theory under jsMath HTML with all the fonts now installed, I get a mess of yellow boxes with the message:
> Unknown control sequence '\nolimitsf'
For instance, pasted over the TeX formula in this phrase:
> Let us write $f = (\operatorname{obj_1}f, \operatorname{obj_2}f, \operatorname{obj_{12}}f)$ to express what has been said so far.
What's that about?
Jon

stay in touch! PlanetMath on identi.ca

on 2009-10-10 20:50:34
Just for fun, and because it is the geeky thing to
do, I created a PlanetMath group on Identi.ca.
http://identi.ca/group/planetmath
So this should motivate all of you to create
identi.ca accounts and join the group... right?
(Note: we already have an IRC channel, but that's
so 2001.)

Problem with LaTeX processor?
by
rm50
on 2009-10-08 01:51:14
Recently, whenever I get an error processing my latex input, the only error message I get is "emergency stop". It used to be that I got some indication of what the error was. I can still click into the output to see where in the file the error occurred, but there is never any indication of what it was (even when it's something simple like an undefined name). Has something changed?

Publishing a trivial logic article
by
porton
on 2009-09-16 21:00:05
I wrote two-page logic article "Formalistics of generalization":
http://www.mathematics21.org/binaries/generalization.pdf
It seems to be not publishable because it may be a re-discovery of a known theory. (I contacted one editor of a logic journal and he have said that it may be known.)
May it be indeed published somewhere?
May it be put to PlanetMath? (This depends of whether we consider it as a "original research".)

Fate of Boubaker polynomials entries
by
rm50
on 2009-09-16 15:43:30
After the recent thread regarding the various entries on the subject of "Boubaker polynomials", the Content Committee has agreed to take some action. We are actively discussing what to do with these entries (with deletion being the primary candidate at this point). The entries in question are:
http://planetmath.org/encyclopedia/BoubakerPolynomialsExpansionShemeBPES2.html
http://planetmath.org/encyclopedia/BoubakerPolynomials.html
http://planetmath.org/encyclopedia/BoubakerTurkiPolynomials.html

If anyone has any comments you'd like us to consider, please post them here (and soon).
Thanks,
Roger Lipsett
