- Comments:
- Informal and introductory paper, no doubt with major errors.
- Description:
- We briefly review quantum mechanics, describe the sum over histories and formalize it in terms of a path integral, carry out the path integral for a free particle, and describe how the counterintuitive sum over histories results in the macroscopic behavior we observe. The discussion, while informal, assumes some familiarity with basic quantum concepts (e.g. amplitudes, Schrodinger's equation), calculus and Dirac's bra-ket notation.
