The assumption $p\ge 1$ is motivated.
If $0<p<1$, $\ell^p(\mathbb{F})$ (defined
as above) is not even a metric space \cite{friedman}.
and the corresponding reference.
As a set, l^p is a metric space, so this comment
should best be discussed at greater length in a
separate entry. |
