Given any bounded, real sequence $(a_n)$ there exists a convergent subsequence $(a_{n_j})$. Given any bounded, real sequence $(a_n)$ there exists a convergent subsequence $(a_{n_j})$.
More generally, any sequence $(a_n)$ in a compact set, has a convergent subsequence.
