| Given some neighborhood $U$ of $P$, a {\em moving frame} has $n$ vector fields defined on $U$, and these vary smoothly as a function of $Q$ in $U$ and any of the points on the vectors can be moved from $P$ to $Q$ quite easily. The concept of the moving frame has applications in general relativity and Riemannian geometry. |
