Edouard Zeckendorf
Born May 2, 1901, died May 16, 1983. Belgian Army doctor, mathematician. He obtained his medical from the University of Liège. During World War II he was a prisoner of war. In mathematics, he studied the Fibonacci numbers extensively and formulated Zeckendorf’s theorem, about the representation of integers as sums of Fibonacci numbers.
