Laurent Lafforgue
Laurent Lafforgue (born 1966) French mathematician, educator and research director of National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). After earning in arithmetic and algebraic geometry
, Lafforgue proved Langland’s conjectures on of a function field. In 2002 he was awarded the Fields medal.
