Tobias Dantzig
Tobias Dantzig (1884 - 1956) Latvian mathematician, the father of George Dantzig, author of Number: The Language of Science.
Dantzig began his formal studies in Paris with Henri Poincaré. With his wife he moved the United States where she bore him George. After earning a Ph.D. in mathematics from Indiana University, he taught at the University of Maryland.
