coordinate way

(Definition)

Let $P = (x,\,y,\,z)$ be a point in $\mathbb{R}^3$ . If is the projection of on the -plane, the projection of on the -axis and the origin, then the broken line is the coordinate way of the point . The lengths of the line segments forming the coordinate way are

$\displaystyle AO = \vert x\vert,\quad NA = \vert y\vert,\quad PN = \vert z\vert.$
