David Hilbert (1862 - 1943) German mathematician, perhaps best known for Hilbert space and Hilbert's problems. He also did much to axiomatize geometry and pondered philosophical questions of infinity with Georg Cantor and Kurt Gödel. Hilbert has Erdős number 4.
