Vladimir Drinfel'd (Definition)

Vladimir Gershonovich Drinfel'd (born 1954) Ukrainian mathematician. Coining the term “quantum group,” Drinfel'd spotted the connection between Hopf algebras and the Yang-Baxter equation. Drinfel'd modules and Drinfel'd twists are named after him. He was awarded the Fields medal in 1990.
