1. Books/Papers/Expositions feedback

is there any system ala addendum/correction/meta for books, papers, etc
like want to drop a note to http://planetmath.org/?op=getobj&from=books&id=26
asking if this shouldn't be better at expositions rather than books
but don't want to post it open to public (I became to dislike most post-on-entry because once the entry changes they lose sense and become confusing weeks later)

2. On corrections.
Checking on whole site pending corrections I notice a couple entries from akrowne to drini, which surprised me since my pending corrections dialog is empty (perhaps it has to do with me orphaning them I think)

3. On forums
why not merging planetmath help and planetmath comments forums? seems the second has become THE place for *planetmath

4. again on forums.
Can I hide already read messages when viewing a forum?
some ofurms are already too large, and I don't really care anymore about posts that happened 5 months ago

I'm not sure if this would be used often enough to justify the work in generalizing the existing corrections system. Also, other than papers, the content itself is probably not written by the PlanetMath user who put the object up (I know there are exceptions).

This is probably a bug, I'll look into it.

I pretty much think it is fine the way it is... I haven't noticed any problems at all.

How are you viewing forums? The messages are split into pages. If you do newest first, you only get the most recent messages on the first page. This was designed to be like usenet (or Google groups).

Keeping data about which messages each user has read requires a lot of overhead. 1000 messages and 1000 users and you're already talking about a million rows in a table. I'd have to study whether we can even support that.
