hey i'm doing some research for a friend. they need to know who first used the term Median in math and it's origins. can only find the definition. anybody got any useful info on this?

There are two entries for "median", since it has more than one sense.

As for etymology, it's from Latin "medianus", which is from "medius" (meaning "middle", and cognate with English "mid").
