support (graded ring)

Let S be a groupoid (semigroup, group) and suppose R=sSRs is an S- graded ringMathworldPlanetmath.

We define the supportMathworldPlanetmathPlanetmath of r to be the set supp(r)={sSrs0}. We can extend this definition to supp(R)=suppRs0}. If supp(R) is a finite setMathworldPlanetmath then we say that the ring R has finite support.
