Ivan Vinogradov
Ivan Matveyevich Vinogradov (1891 - 1983) Soviet mathematician perhaps best known for almost solving Goldbach’s conjecture. A few years after Stalin’s death, Vinogradov headed the Soviet delegation to the International Congress of Mathematicians.
Not to be confused with A. I. Vinogradov.
