fibre map
A fibre map is a map of topological spaces , for which there exists a space , such that any point of is contained in some neighbourhood satisfying the following: on , restricts to the natural projection , via some homeomorphic identification of with .
One class of examples are covering maps. Another example is the map sending a rotation to the point it sends the “North Pole” to.
