right function notation

We are said to be using if we write functions to the right of their arguments. That is, if α:XY is a function and xX, then xα is the image of x under α.

Furthermore, if we have a function β:YZ, then we write the compositionMathworldPlanetmath of the two functions as αβ:XZ, and the image of x under the composition as xαβ=x(αβ)=(xα)β.

Compare this to left function notation.
